The Kidde 20SD10-CA is a 10-year, sealed battery, single-station smoke alarm. No battery replacement is required over the 10-year life of the alarm, eliminating worries about downtime or deactivation. Battery is included.

The unit will automatically activate when it is attached to the tamper-resistant mounting bracket. At the end of the alarm's life, it will chirp, indicating that it is in need of replacement.

Product Details

  • The 10-year sealed lithium battery eliminates the need to replace the battery. It automatically activates when attached to the mounting bracket.
  • The Hush™ button temporarily silences nuisance alarms for approximately 8 minutes.
  • The test/reset button tests the unit's circuit operation and resets its memory after an alarm condition occurs.
  • The unit locks to the mounting bracket to deter theft or tampering.
  • End-of-life notification: 10 years after the unit is first powered, this alarm will emit two beeps every 30 seconds. The digital display will show "END" to indicate the alarm needs replacing.
  • This smoke alarm uses photoelectric technology. Photoelectric sensing alarms may detect visible fire particles (associated with slow smoldering fires) sooner than ionization alarms. Ionization sensing alarms may detect invisible fire particles (associated with fast flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms. Industry experts recommend installing both ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms for maximum detection of the various types of fires that can occur within the home.*
